The Posthalterei in the Sächsischer Hof in Meiningen was once used as a coach inn by the Princes of Thurn and Taxis. It offers a traditional feel, charming service and exquisite cuisine. This splendid restaurant offers an ideal setting for banquets and family celebrations. The cuisine at the Posthalterei has had glowing reviews in many restaurant guides and is one of the best restaurants in Thüringen. The menu features many regional dishes as well as some Asian and Mediterranean style dishes. The vaulted cellar dating from 1798 is the oldest part of the restaurant and contains more than 8,000 bottles of wine. If you would like to take a bottle of wine or champagne home with you just ask in the wine store. The cost of a 3-7 course meal ranges between 39 and 72 EUR.
