| Locally Sourced Restaurant Serving traditional recipes using regional ingredients, the kitchen at the Gasthaus Lamm in Wangen in Allgäu provides typical Swabian cuisine.
Here you can experience Swabian and Allgäu specialities, prepared with care and lovingly served. The house special is the “Wangen Legend”, a choice of Swabian specialities: Allgäu herb fritters, Schupf (local village) noodles, Maultasche (Swabian Pockets - pasta squares filled with meat and spinach), small rump steak and roasted onion.
The produce used to create these Swabian delicacies for the Gasthaus Lamm is sourced for the most part from the Lake Constance island of Reichenau. In owner Franz Christberger’s opinion, the ingredients from a good meal don’t need to have travelled half way across the world before being served to your table! In fact, there is good reason why you will always see the lamb from Wangen in Allgäu highly recommended on both the radio and television. Traditional preparation, original recipes and using ingredients sourced from the local area have all become completely fashionable.
