Working with the best local produce and seasonal ingredients, The Gasthaus zur Freiheit (’The Freedom Guesthouse’) serves a selection of fine and filling dishes from the book of Odenwälder cuisine. The variety ranges from classics to modern fare. Some are quite unique, but always fresh with a focus on being naturally flavourful. In the summer, enjoy your meal in the Freedom Garden, surrounded by nature. Meanwhile during the cold seasons, the menu offers game from local hunts, Crispy Roast Duck and dishes made from Odenwälder Gingerbread, and don’t forget to try the house-special of oven-fresh Apple and Cream Strudel every weekend from January to March. There is also a number of special events during the year, including a journey though the Odenwald and its delicious fruit liqueurs with expert Dieter Walz, and a “Jazz, Cheese and Freedom” evening with organic cheese specialities and great music from “The Pope of Cheese”.
