In the picturesque Devon village of Strete, The Laughing Monk is an award-winning restaurant, owned and run by a husband and wife team since 2008. The food focuses on fresh, local produce, with fish delivered daily from Dartmouth and Brixham fisherman, and meat from local farms. With innovative presentation, creative touches are added to simple dishes.

Housed in a former 19th-century school building, many original features have been retained including oak floors, large windows and a welcoming open fire. Light and airy in the summer, warm and cosy in the winter, The Laughing Monk restaurant is a relaxed setting serving fine food.
