Palmers Ale House & Kitchen history dates back to the 16th Century. This charming building has had many incarnations and was formally a Coal merchant and a family owned butchers shop called “Frow”.

Today traditionally beamed ceilings and a beautifully restored thatched roof combine with the more contemporary features : a glass conservatory with bi-fold doors that open up onto a cozy courtyard.

Our aim is to make our pub a great place, full of character, and an inviting place to eat, drink & sleep; a place for local people, businesses, families & tourists to meet and call their own.

We are a privately owned place which means we’re out for perfection on a small scale, fuelled by passion for good locally sourced food and drink.

Palmers Ale House & Kitchen is open every day from 8am for breakfast, with lunch served from noon till 3 pm & dinner menu is available from 6-9pm. We take huge pride in serving the best ingredients we can find freshly prepared by our chefs. Whether you pop in for a pint, a business lunch or a special dinner our quintessentially English gastro pub and hotel will not disappoint, and we promise you a friendly welcome all day long.
