Danish Restaurant

Ravelinen is a garden restaurant located outside the ramparts on outer Christianshavn. The building dates back to 1728 and was previously a tollhouse. Now, the interior is obviously cosier, while the view of the moat is as magnificent as ever. In the kitchen, emphasis is placed on animal welfare. Most produce is organic, and sourced from within Denmark as much as possible. The menu is classic Danish fare - curried herring, aged cheeses, and apple pie with whipped cream. Add to this a simple wine list dominated by Danish specialities such as Linie Akvavit, and you have a uniquely old-fashioned but still relevant food experience.
