This restaurant is something special! The name of the restaurant conjures up images of ancient history, but who would have thought that the Excalibur has a room which is older than the legend of King Arthur? The Ritterschänke dates back to 9th century. It sits 30 people who dine under arched ceilings that are full of nooks and crannies, like in a modern adventure. Arthur’s vaulted cellar, which dates from the 5th century, is even older and can dine up to 50 people. The ?new? Kurfürstensaal which dates from the 15th century can accommodate 180 hungry mouths. All of this can be fully booked for spectacular events. Dine as they did in yesteryear, table manners thrown in. You can book four or five course meals to fit just the right occasion. If you really like the delicious medieval food, you can also take something home with you from the in-house bazaar.
